British Transport Police (BTP)

BTP is the specialist police force that policies the railway network of England, Wales and Scotland. Their responsibilities include the safeguarding of passengers and staff, the management of incidents and the investigation of crime on the railway.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is one of the largest Fire and Rescue Services in England with a total of 50 fire stations. The Fire and Rescue service is a pivotal part of incident response and as they have a huge skill set they attend almost all incidents including those that have little to no 'Fire' aspects.

Environment Agency

The Environment Agency although widely recognised for its role in flooding, does in fact have a huge number of responsibilities. These include water quality, treatment of contaminated land, conservation and fisheries. Most incidents have an environmental impact and therefore the environment agency are usually part of the core group of responders.

NHS England

The NHS is the largest employer in the UK and the 5th largest in the world. They are a pivotal part in emergency preparedness and response as they need to be able to respond to a wide variety or incidents that might affect patient care.

NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB)

BSW NHS ICB stands for Bath, Swindon and Wiltshire National Health Service Integrated Care Board. It was previously known as the NHS CCG and since 2022 has been given greater responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act, with the organisation now operating as a Category 1 responder.

South Western Ambulance Service

South Western Ambulance Service cover a large patch including areas such as Plymouth, Exeter, Wiltshire, Somerset and Bristol. They cover a total population of approximately 5.5 million and their core operations are the delivery of emergency ambulance 999 services.

Swindon Borough Council

Swindon Borough Council is one of the two Local Authorities in Wiltshire and in incident response is responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as welfare of residents and highway maintenance. Alongside its activities in response one or both of the two Local Authorities will lead the recovery phase of all incidents.

UKHSA

UKHSA (previously known as PHE) is the UK's permanent standing capability to prepare for, prevent and respond to health security hazards.

Wiltshire Council

Wiltshire Council is one of the two Local Authorities in Wiltshire and in incident response is responsible for a wide variety of tasks such as welfare of residents and highway maintenance. Alongside its activities in response one or both of the two Local Authorities will lead the recovery phase of all incidents.

Wiltshire Police

Wiltshire Police is a key partner is incident response and will deal with anything from road traffic collisions, anti-social behaviour or rural crime. There is rarely a multi-agency incident where the Police do not have some involvement.
