Launch of Emergency Contact Hubs

Launch of Emergency Contact Hubs

Wiltshire and Swindon Prepared are launching our NEW Innovative Emergency Contact Hub scheme across the county to help communities better respond and prepare for emergencies and risks in their area.

The scheme is based around a highly successful model used in New Zealand whereby communities have designated hubs that can be opened and run by themselves with structure and support from the multi-agency/blue light partners.

After months of presenting, exercising, testing, and improving the scheme it is now ready to launch to all our communities, big or small.

What we need?

Community buildings to be designated as hubs.

What you get?

  • A pack with role and guidance for the running the hub.
  • Become part of a county wide scheme whereby better connectiveness between responding agencies and communities is paramount.
  • An improved resilience in your community.

We want as many communities to sign up and have hubs as possible, there’s no minimum number of hubs and you DO NOT NEED a community emergency plan or volunteer group for this to work! This scheme works in communities that do not know each other as well as communities where everyone is familiar.

To find out more about the scheme click here and if you are interested in signing up please let us know by emailing wiltshireandswindonprepared@wiltshire.gov.uk and help us build a stronger community in Wiltshire and Swindon.
