Met Office
The Met Office provide not only the weather forecasts you see on your phones and TV's but they also provide extremely valuable meteorological information for responding agencies in an incident. Knowing what weather is incoming, how long it will last or which way the wind might blow a smoke plume is crucial when dealing with many incidents we might have.
National Highways
National Highways (previously known as Highways England) look after several main roads in Wiltshire including the A303 and M4. They do not look after every road with the vast majority under the responsibility of the two Local Authorities.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN)
SSE are a electricity distribution network operator who are responsible for delivering power to millions of homes and businesses across southern England and the north of Scotland. The important aspect to remember about SSE is that they are not who you pay your bills to. SSE look after the network your electricity moves through, you pay your bill to a provider whose uses this network.
Thames Water
Thames water is the largest water and waste company in the UK and serves around 15 million customers. In the Wiltshire area it predominantly serves the North of the County.
