Today, 8th June, marks the beginning of National Blood Donor Week.  It's a week where the NHS raises awareness of the lifesaving importance of blood donation to encourage those who have never donated to give it  go.

The NHS needs more O negative, B negative and Black heritage donnors.

This week also incorporates world Blood Donor Day on 14th June which is an annual event oranised by the World Health Organisation.
