Counter Terrorism Policing - Run Hide Tell advice

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) has published advice to members of the public on what to do in the event of a terror attack or other serious incident

CTP is sharing simple advice that sets out three key steps for keeping safe in the event of a firearms or weapons attack. 

In the event of a firearms or weapons attack, remember Run Hide Tell. This advice can be used in many situations and places. We know from case studies and testimony of people who have survived attacks that this advice can save lives. 

In the event of an attack, Counter Terrorism Policing advises individuals to: 

  • RUN if it’s safe, this is the best option. 
  • HIDE if you can’t run. 
  • TELL the police by calling 999 when it is safe to do so.
